Every year thousands of orphans in Vietnam may experience dental pain and infection because of the lack of awareness of good oral hygiene and the lack of access to dentists.
Between March 28th and April 6th, 2011, a team of three Canadian dentists from the University of British Columbia volunteered in the program. Drs. Arden, Fahad and Cornel successful treated 180 kids from Vietnam orphanages in Ho Chi Minh City. This is the tenth mission UBC has been back to support underprivileged children.
Journey for Smiles is making progress to see its goal of 5000 children treated by 2015.
